Primeira Pedra 2016/2022

Primeira Pedra 2016/2022 (24 June 2022 – 22 January 2023) presented 74 original works in Portuguese stone — marble and granite from the national stone industry — designed by 36 authors from 15 countries, exhibited inside the National Coach Museum. The Primeira Pedra (First Stone) initiative, organised by experimentadesign, brought architects, designers and artists together with the country's stone producers and craftsmen to propose new uses for Portuguese stone, with prior international showings in London, Milan, New York, São Paulo, Venice, Weil am Rhein, Basel and Dubai. Vhils contributed Petra, an architectural-scale stone work shown alongside contemporary pieces by Álvaro Siza Vieira and Norberto Nunes on the museum's first floor.
