An early portrait on paper of the anti-colonial independence leader Amílcar Cabral, produced by applying bleach and acid to the paper support. The smiling face — wearing a knit cap and glasses — surfaces in warm rust and ochre tones against a dark ground broken by vertical drips. Dated to 2006–2007, it belongs to the artist's earliest body of work and was published in the Other Media section of his Cargo Collective site.
