Wyncatcher I — Carved Facade

At 2143 NW 1st Ave in Miami's Wynwood district, Vhils Studio carved the black concrete envelope of a former industrial warehouse in late 2022 and early 2023, integrating sculpture into the building itself as part of its adaptive transformation into Wyncatcher Phase I. Developed by Morabito Properties, with architecture by Arquitectonica and Vagabond ARQ, the carving lets portraits and abstract patterns emerge by excavation, exposing lighter strata beneath and inverting the visual logic of Vhils's usual work on applied façades. The building was delivered at the end of 2023; its sequel, Wyncatcher II at 2150 NW Miami Ct, was carved by Vhils in 2026.
