Nancy's École de Nancy, led by Émile Gallé, gave French Art Nouveau its organic ornamental language. Within ADN, the city-run public-art route launched in 2015, Vhils completed the gable of the Émile Gallé school extension on 29 April 2019; 17 classes joined the accompanying workshops. The carved pattern continues that decorative lineage in rawer terms: chisel and render replace the glass, wood and flora of Gallé's generation.
