Residue Series — Walls work, 2017, Beijing, China

A constellation of large-scale anonymous portraits and a hexagonal geometric panel emerges from freestanding plasterboard slabs, each face revealed by chiselling through the white surface to expose the warm ochre substrate beneath. Carved debris remains pooled at the base of the panels, leaving the destructive process visible as part of the work.
