A video work from the Pulsão series, filmed in early 2014 at the former Lisnave shipyards in Almada, Portugal — a pyrotechnic bas-relief wall carving, the explosion itself cutting the image into the surface. Shot in HD (1920 × 1080, 16:9, colour, no sound) with a running time of 2'30'', the piece extends the Scratching the Surface practice into the moving image. The artist's own 2020 monograph Pentimento (p.323) captions the campaign — in a caption credited to the Series #04 shoot — 'Bas-relief wall carving with explosives / Almada, Portugal / February 2014.' Companion piece: Pulsão Series #04. The Pulsão videos were later shown alongside Detritos and Hint in 'Fragments Urbains' at Le Centquatre-Paris, 2018.
