London made Vhils’ name: the 2008 Cans Festival in the Leake Street tunnel put the carved portraits next to Banksy and launched everything that followed. Most of that history is now archaeology — galleries closed, walls re-rendered, venues reinvented — which is exactly the point of his work. This walk visits the sites where it happened: an active graffiti tunnel, vanished gallery spaces, the Truman Brewery wall that still survives, and the ghost of a Shoreditch gable. Urban archaeology includes what disappeared.
