Vhils carved his intervention directly into the façades of Wyncatcher II, Morabito Properties' redevelopment at 2150 NW Miami Ct, Wynwood, Miami, treating it as part of the building's material identity. The monumental portraits emerge through excavation, letting the existing concrete surface keep the physical traces of the site's industrial past. The project transforms a former warehouse into a contemporary workplace while preserving its structural character. By embedding subtraction within the architecture itself, the commission extends Vhils's investigation into how buildings accumulate histories beyond their original function: the façade becomes an active record of change, connecting Wynwood's industrial legacy with its continuing cultural and economic transformation.
