At 9a Ngô Quang Huy, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, Vhils carved a monumental portrait of Vietnamese rapper Karik in September 2018 for Hennessy's Making the Invisible Visible campaign, part of the Scratching the Surface project. The portrait positioned Karik as a figure who has expanded the reach of Vietnam's hip-hop scene. The campaign comprised six murals, made across London, Johannesburg, Moscow, Chicago, New York and Ho Chi Minh City, each dedicated to a locally significant musician. Photo: Alexander Silva.
