The Minotaur

The Minotaur (10 – 25 October 2011) was a maze-like immersive group exhibition staged by Lazarides Gallery in the Old Vic Tunnels beneath Waterloo Station, timed with Frieze Art Fair. Steve Lazarides commissioned 20 international artists to create installations interpreting the ancient Greek labyrinth myth, weaving them into a single navigable underground experience. A follow-up to Hell's Half Acre, the show partnered with KP Kofler's Pret A Diner. For Vhils, the show was a major London moment — his contribution included a chiselled-out Rupert Murdoch portrait, exhibited in the same labyrinth as Conor Harrington's "Death in the Afternoon" and Stanley Donwood's "Labyrinth" installation.
